Secretary
• Christine
Cashatt MSN, RN, BC, GMHS
I am a Spokane native
and I love it here. I like to swim for fun and competitively. I enjoy
decorating with antiques, gardening, and especially summers at Coeur
D’Alene Lake. I went to Gonzaga and graduated in 1992 with a BA
in biology. I've been an RN for 11 years. I graduated with a BSN from
Seattle University in 1995 and a MSN in nursing administration from
Gonzaga in 2003. I'm currently attending GU and working towards a post-master's
certificate in psychiatric nursing and should be finished up in May
2007. My focus in nursing is leadership and geropsych. Call me crazy,
but I enjoy creating documents/forms and writing for inservice trainings
or policies and procedures.
Currently I work
as the Community Nurse Specialist at Eastern State Hospital and I have
previously worked as a staff nurse in a couple of nursing homes on the
West side of the state, as a staff nurse in psychiatry at Sacred Heart,
and as a nurse consultant and assistant nurse manager at Spokane Mental
Health.
Since my induction
to STT in 2003, I've been involved in the scholarship/research/travel
awards committee and the Inland Northwest Nursing Research Symposium
planning committee. I am currently involved in one research study at
ESH in which I'm writing Leadership Training modules and measuring leadership
growth in assistant nurse managers.
I want to become
more involved in STT and feel my writing experience would serve me well
in the secretary position.
• Mary
Moller MSN, ARNP, BC, CPRP
After an absence
of involvement with STT, due to establishing an active private outpatient
psychiatric practice as an ARNP at Suncrest Wellness Center and completing
the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Case Western Reserve University,
I desire once more to become an active participant in Delta Chi. I have
been a member of STT since 1982 and served as chair of the Chapter Formation
Committee for the organization of the Theta Omega Chapter of STT at
Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE where I taught from 1982 to
1990. I have been an active supporter of Sigma Theta Tau and the principles
of the honor society and look forward to participating in our local
Chapter activities.
Leadership
Succession Committee
• Theresa
G. Buxton, RN, PhD
Resident of Spokane
for the past 22 years. My area of practice has included occupational
health nursing, adult health, geriatrics, and nursing education. I am
currently employed full time as an instructor at Washington State University’s
Intercollegiate College of Nursing. I am a clinical nursing instructor
for new students and I teach a leadership and management course for
senior students.
Education
Undergraduate BSN degree obtained at Texas Woman’s University
1978.
Master’s degree in Nursing from Gonzaga University 2002
PhD in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University in 2005.
Sigma Theta Tau.
My reasons for joining were related to my education and the importance
of scholarship and research at an advanced practice level. I feel strongly
about leadership (and felt it was important that I practice what I preach;
the importance of the nursing profession to have a more visible role
in the health care arena). I am currently running for the Leadership
Succession Committee.

Donna Haynes MN, RN
I have been a nurse
for over 20 years. The majority of my experience has been in Pediatrics.
I also have worked Emergency Room and Med-Surg. Mingled in my clinical
experience is an administrative side that included the development of
the Recruitment and Retention program for Baylor Medical Center in Dallas,
TX and as the Magnet Development Coordinator/Director of Education for
Pullman Regional Hospital. I am now in a clinical instructor role for
the Child Health Faculty at ICN. I just recently graduated from ICN
with my Master's degree and I look forward to furthering my education
as soon as the PhD program is approved. My passion is working with homeless
young children and adolescents. I volunteer my time at two shelters
in Spokane that serve these populations. My hope is to focus my research
in this area. I want to serve on the Succession Committee for Sigma
Theta Tau for the mere reason of becoming an active member of the Delta
Chi Chapter. This committee has an important responsibility to keep
the best interest of the entire organization in mind when suggesting
candidates to fill roles that will enhance the future growth and direction
of our chapter.
ICN/WSU Counselor
•
Gail O’Neal MN, APRN, BC
I have been a nurse
for 26 years and have worked in multiple areas in multiple communities.
This was due to my husband working as a journeyman carpenter on large
union jobs and was sent to jobs around the state. I have a wide range
of experiences and consider myself a nursing "jack of all trades".
I initially graduated from an associate degree program with every intention
of finishing my BSN. I actually started several programs but had to
leave them when we had to move. I finally finished my BSN a few years
ago and promptly continued on for an MN from WSU ICN. My degree is an
MN: Community Based-Population Focused with nursing education track
I am now board certified through ANCC as a clinical specialist in community
health. My thesis dealt with working poor families and access to care
issues, looking at their use of EDs as primary care. I hope to take
this research further in the future and am planning on going on for
a PhD. I am running for WSU Counselor position and would like to serve
the college community by promoting STT, helping with oversight on bylaw
issues, and working with the GU counselor in determining eligible members.
Thank you for your support.
Gonzaga Counselor
•
Lin Rogers PhD(c), RN
I have spent most
of my nursing career in nursing administration, initially as the Nurse
Manager of the CICU at Sacred Heart Medical Center (SHMC) and then as
Director of Clinical Services at The Heart Institute of Spokane. For
three of the years I was at The Heart Institute, I also served as the
Co-Director of the Cardiac Service Line at SHMC. I returned to nursing
education almost four years ago and am currently teaching both undergraduate
and graduate nursing courses at Gonzaga University. In addition, I am
enrolled in Gonzaga’s Doctoral Program in Leadership Studies and
am hoping to complete the program in a little over a year. My research
interest is in the area of “authentic” leadership, specifically
how nurse executives learn to be authentic leaders who foster trust
and the development of authentic followers. I am interested in serving
the Delta Chi Chapter as the Gonzaga University Counselor in order to
encourage eligible students to become members of STT, an outstanding
organization that truly fosters excellence in nursing leadership and
scholarship. I have previously served the chapter as a member of the
Nominating Committee.
